Boruto vs. Mitsuki Begins – Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 6

Boruto+vs.+Mitsuki+Begins+-+Boruto%3A+Two+Blue+Vortex+Chapter+6

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s sixth chapter, titled, “Three Years,” kicked off with the current Hokage, Shikamaru Nara, meeting with two elders within the Hidden Leaf Village, discussing their plans to kill Boruto Uzumaki. It was then that we learned that Shikamaru has yet to officially take up the Hokage position and that he is only a placeholder at the current moment, something that is weakening the village’s position not only within the Land of Fire, but the other villages, as well.

We then moved forward a bit to Shikamaru inside the Hokage Office when his former Ino-Shika-Cho teammate, Ino Yamanaka, entered, bringing in an old mission log that the former had requested. Later, using Ino’s sensory abilities, she and Shikamaru began a conversation, with the latter asking for the conversation to be an off-the-record transmission. Ino protested, reminding Shikamaru that doing so would be going against the village’s regulations, but, after some persistence from Shikamaru, Ino gave in.

We then switched over to Kawaki, Eida and her younger brother, Daemon, the three discussing the phenomena which is Code’s Claw Grime creatures. Eida informed Kawaki that not only are they going after Otsutsuki, such as him and Boruto, but also Naruto Uzumaki, as well as her, though she doesn’t quite know why. Daemon began to speak up, reminding Kawaki that them three, along with Boruto and Sasuke Uchiha, are the only ones who are aware of the fact that Naruto is still alive. However, if Code’s Claw Grimes were to invade Konoha in search of the Seventh Hokage, somebody would eventually figure out that there are holes in Kawaki’s claims. Kawaki then left the room, where Mitsuki was waiting for him outside.

Switching over to Boruto, Sarada Uchiha and Kakei Sumire, Boruto informed the two that Sasuke, Sarada’s father, had been absorbed by the Claw Grimes. We briefly cut over to Kawaki and Mitsuki, the former sensing Boruto’s presence. Cutting back over to Boruto, he explained that the fundamental purpose of the Ten Tails has always been to devour chakra of any kind. Once an Otsutsuki is devoured, the chakra should transform the Ten Tails into a Divine Tree.

“That’s how it’s supposed to go,” according to Boruto. “For whatever reason, they’ve already started evolving into Divine Trees.” He came to the conclusion that Code’s chakra must be affecting the Claw Grimes due to him having a Karma Seal and that, despite him not being an Otsutsuki, his Seal is of Otsutsuki essence, so it having some effect wouldn’t be all that surprising.

Cutting over to Mitsuki, he had incapacitated Kawaki, claiming that Kawaki wasn’t suited to go after Boruto, offering to go after Boruto himself. It was then that Ino connected Shikamaru and Boruto on a private line so that the two could communicate telepathically. After some back and forth between the two, Mitsuki made his move on Boruto, using a large snake to wrap Boruto up. However, utilizing the Flying Raijin technique, Boruto was able to escape. It was then revealed that Mitsuki had activated Sage Mode, something he rarely does as it has a harmful effect on his body.

Boruto and Mitsuki exchanged techniques before Boruto flew into the air, swearing to Sarada that he would rescue Sasuke and everybody else captured by the Claw Grimes. As Boruto flew away, Shikamaru informed him of the fact that he knows his true identity, which is Boruto Uzumaki, the son of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Before Boruto had a chance to confirm Shikamaru’s deduction, Mitsuki charged at him, still hot on his heels. To close out the chapter, Boruto apologized to Mitsuki in advance, telling him that he’d need to get a little rough with him.
