Fortnite: The Addiction

As an avid and (addicted) Fortnite: Battle Royale player, collectively earning over 300 wins, I can safely say that this game has taken the world by storm. Fortnite: Battle Royale is a free-to-play game in which your character drops into an extensive map along with 99 other players and fights to the death. There are other games with the same concept (PUBG, H1Z1, etc.), but what makes Fortnite unique is its building mechanics. Fortnite allows you to build defenses out of materials you gather from the map. Building is imperative to survive and ultimately win the game.

“Fortnite is very addictive because of its bright colors in-game along with its highly competitive gameplay,” said Daunte Thomas, senior.

What makes Fortnite so addictive is its cartoonish graphics. Unlike its counterparts, Fortnite is less realistic which blows its other competition away. Epic Games, Fortnites developer, has created debatably the most addicting game of all time. Another thing that sets Fortnite apart from its competitors is their involvement and constant updates. Almost every week a new item comes out, keeping the game new and fresh.

“My favorite part of the game is that the developers are constantly adding more every week,” said Allen Oddo, senior. “My favorite updates for the game are when they change the map in some sort of way.”
