On Sunday March 10th Daylight Savings started, where we lost an hour in the day. It has had some effects on people but for others not so much. It makes the days feel longer with it being darker in the morning, and the sun going down at a later time.
“It’s hard when I wake up in the morning,” said Abi Escobedo, sophomore. “It’s still dark outside and time seems to go by a little too fast.”
Daylight Savings Time has had a major effect on some people. With losing their sleep, or just in general having to get used to the new time change.
“I am really tired all the time,” said Emilio Rodrigues, science teacher. “I feel like I don’t get enough sleep but I mean it’s something that we’ve been doing since I’ve been alive. It’s something I am used to.”
Daylight Savings has been around for over 100 years, so it isn’t completely new. That’s why it doesn’t affect everybody experiencing it, they are used to it.
“I think I like it when the sun goes down at a later time,” said Escobedo. “It is nice having the sun out longer, shows that summer is almost here.”
There is a lot of debate whether or not we should keep Daylight Savings Time going. Some people like it when the sun goes in earlier, while others prefer it to go down later in the day.
