Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft

Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft

Billie Eilish Pirate Bakird O’Conelll is a 22 year-old pop singer, born on December 18, 2001 in Los Angeles, California. She is a singer songwriter and collaborates  with her brother Finneas Baird O’Connell who co-writes and produces all of her music. Billie Eilish talks about everything from body image issues to heartache and love.

Billie first started getting traction from her first single Ocean eyes in 2015. The song gained success quickly leading her to sign with Darkroom the boutique label in the summer of 2016. In August of 2017 she released the 8 song ep written by herself and her brother. The Don’t smile at me EP Peaked at number 14 on the billboard 200 chart. Eilish’s debut album when we all fall asleep, where do we go? Was released on March 29, 2019 and reached the number one  on the billboard hot 100 chart, won song of the year and record of the year at the 2020 Grammys. Since then Billie and her Brother Finneas have gone on to win 2 Oscars, a Golden globe and so much more.

There is no doubt that Her newest album Hit me hard and soft which came out May 17th will put some more awards under their belt. Hit me hard and soft is the perfect combination of her last two albums (when we all fall asleep, where do we go?Happier than ever) while also being something completely different.  This album goes through all the emotions. On one side there is having a crush that leaves you wanting more than on the other side we are dealing with body image and how people view you when you look a certain way.

I wasn’t a huge Billie Eilish fan before I knew her hits but after listening to this album I can say that I’m definitely going to be checking out the rest of her music.
