Mr. Ricky Booth is a new teacher this year and is working part-time with the production academy. He teaches two Introduction to Production Academy classes. He is not new to the teaching industry but is a retired teacher with 36 years of experience.
“I was in Wisconsin for my first six years of my teaching career,” said Mr. Booth. “And over in the Belvidere school district for the last 30 years. I retired from teaching at Belvidere and was able to get the opportunity to teach here this year.”
Mr. Booth enjoys doing construction projects outside of school in his free time. Working in the production academy, he gets to work with students who are new and learning construction.
“I don’t think I’ve seen any major challenges,” said Mr. Booth. “Just getting to know the new building, the new staff that I’m working with, and the new curriculum which is different from my past teaching experiences.”
During his 36 year teaching career, Mr. Booth coached cross country and track. He is currently coaching the track team at Jefferson High school.
“I’ve really enjoyed just being able to experience this new opportunity,” said Mr. Booth. “To work with and learn from the teachers and staff here at Guilford.”
