Mrs. Nicole Norton has been teaching for 19 years, but just began her teaching journey with Guiford this year. Her husband, Mr. Norton works at GHS as the assistant principal for the production academy. Mrs. Norton’s daughter also attends Guilford, and her son will attend next year.
Before coming to Guilford, Mrs. Norton spent her time at a few places. She taught at East and in Belvidere. She also worked as a pharmaceutical chemist for two years.
“I worked in the lab where I would test the drugs to make sure they didn’t contain anything they weren’t supposed to, and that they were working like they were supposed to,” said Mrs. Norton.
Mrs. Norton teaches juniors in Physics and Integrated Science 2. Along with teaching, Mrs. Norton takes part in the assessment center, and extended day. Outside of school, she also has many hobbies, like bike riding and hiking.
“I like to bike ride, I like to hike, and my kids keep me busy,” said Norton.
So far, Mrs. Norton’s experience at Guilford has been a positive one. She loves that Guilford is home to her and her family. Her only dislike about the school is “unmotivated individuals”.
Overall, Mrs. Norton is pleased and excited to be a part of the Guilford community, and she is very glad she came to work here.
