Guilford’s first girls flag football season was definitely a successful one. Coach Ford, Coach Taylor, and Coach Johnson did a wonderful job coaching the teams.

Their season record was 6-1, and they went on to be crowned fourth in the state.

“Overall the season went really well, and we had a good time,” said Maddie Bevins, freshman on the JV team.

The main reason that the team had such a successful season was due to their ability to work well together and have a mindset pointed towards success.

“We worked really well together, and we were kind of like family to each other,” said Albreya Harris, a freshman on the JV team.

There were thirteen girls on the varsity team, and nine on JV, and they definitely exceeded expectations and went above and beyond to show that girls can be incredible football players.

“One reason that I play football is to prove that girls can do boy sports,” said Bevins.
