Ms. Bridget Sexton: Math

Ms. Bridget Sexton is a new math teacher at Guilford high school. Ms. Sexton’s most positive experience at Guilford so far was the welcoming environment created by the staff and the functionality of the math department.

“It is great to be supported by my fellow colleagues and to help contribute to a great department,” she said.

Ms. Sexton  decided to teach at Guilford because she really enjoys  the content of her  preps.

“I teach IM 2 and precalculus and I love teaching these specific classes!” she said. “IM 2 has a lot of geometry which is one of my favorite math classes because of the different types of challenge it provides. I also really enjoy teaching precalc because there are a lot of physics applications.”

Ms. Sexton does a lot of things to keep her classes interesting.

“My goal for next semester is to create more fun and engaging activities for

my students,” she said. “Most students do not have an interest in math, so I have to try to keep it as fun as possible. As we move into geometry, there are a lot more opportunities to have hands-on activities.”

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Sexton participates in many hobbies.

“I really enjoy painting and reading outside of school,” she said.
