Kevin Polky returns to discuss the hero’s journey

Kevin Polky returned to host the March 10 Wellness Wednesday seminar about a hero’s journey. The seminar started off with a question, what is your why?

We then watched a video about why we do the things we do and why we should figure out what our purpose is. There was a quote Mr. Polky showed us from a man who was captured in World War II: “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”

The most significant things about a hero’s journey I learned was that we can all be the hero of our story and all the people we interact with are external characters playing parts in our story. We all walk this journey; the difference is our awareness.

There are two stages of the hero’s journey: the first one includes the stages known as normal, order, awareness, and separation. Stage two stages include dark night of the soul, disorder and change. Mr. Polky said, “This hero’s journey relates back to the pandemic we have been going through, and you can still be in the order part or still the disorder.”
