Defense Secretary fired by Trump, replaced by Director of Counterterrorism
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has fired the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper and he is being replaced with Christopher Miller, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Mr. Trump could not have made this haste decision at such an unpredictable time, especially considering the uncertain outcome of the election. This is the first time that a president has fired their Defense Secretary after an Election since the post-War-World II era. Through this power of transition, the stability within the Pentagon and military will be maintained. Mr. Trump had taken to Twitter to make this announcement.
