USPS struggling to keep up with mail-in ballot delivery
WASHINGTON – The United States Postal Service is experiencing a few delays with delivery of this year’s election’s mail-in ballots to be counted. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan in Washington has ordered them to participate in daily court conferences and release daily reports on mail deliveries. House Oversight and Reform Committee member, Carlyon Maloney said, “delays are now jeopardizing the delivery of election mail, so I encourage all Americans who have not yet voted to vote in person or use designated election drop boxes.” The USPS has a deadline of Thursday to ensure “completed ballots reach the appropriate election official by state’s designated deadline.” said Emmet Sullivan.
The USPS does not recommend mailing ballots less than seven days before state deadlines.
