ILLINOIS – Lack of funding for police training is preventing future officers from getting the education they need to do their jobs efficiently. Legislation by lawmakers in the Illinois capitol is pending that would permit taking $5 million from the state’s general revenue to put towards the Traffic and Criminal Surcharge fund, but it wasn’t permitted A proposed suggestion to get the funding is to use the sales tax from newly legalized Marijuana sales at dispensaries across the stateline.
