Super Bowl 52’s halftime performance left audience members stunned and in awe by the trash that was set out before them.

While past performances have been exciting, Justin Timberlake’s halftime show was less than spectacular. Previous performances such as Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were very eccentric. Lady Gaga dropped down from the top of the stadium. Another memorable performance was when Katy Perry rode a mechanical tiger along with her dancing shark duo that stole the stage in 2015. Meanwhile, Timberlake just wandered around the stadium in his nice new pair of high-tops.

Another flaw in his performance was the fact that he played over his same old run down songs that could’ve been hits at one point in time but are better to be left in the past. It almost seemed like a last ditch effort for him to stay in the spotlight. When he came into the stands and sang next to that young kid, his face told an entire story: it was a mix of “Who is this guy?” and just an overall sense of awkwardness.
